Keyboard Issues (Character auto-walking)
https://crytivo.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/FF/boards/18?selectedIssue=FF-4690
• Build Version: 19629
• Description:
I jumped in the game and my character is constantly moving diagonally like I am holding W+A even though I am holding nothing.
It doesn't stop and nothing can prevent it. I alt tabbed after clicking start game if that gives you any info, the game screen froze when alt tabbing and it went above all my windows making everything underneath not reachable (second monitor was just fine).
• Reproduction Steps:
Just Hop in Game and it auto moves
• Reproduction Rate: 5/5
• Expected Behavior: To move correctly and not autorun
• Attachments: None

Adero PinnedHello once again,
I have resolved the issue on my end, this is how it happened:
Press WIN + R
Type joy.cpl
This will show if you have any phantom/ghost controllers sending signals.
In my case, I was using virtual controllers because of my flight sticks who were translating the signals from my flight sticks for a specific game to be able to work with them. It was months ago, so I had forgotten that I have these things in place.
It should be empty OR it should only display a keyboard, nothing else. If there is anything else in the window that appears, you'll probably have to delete it in order for your game to function properly.
Good luck and I hope it helps you all. -

Krakow MergedMy character automatically walks in one direction even though I'm not pressing anything. I've tried everything: connecting a controller, changing the button mapping, pressing all the buttons. I've tried it without a controller. I've even deactivated the controller in Steam, but nothing works.

Gage MergedFor some reason after starting a brand new game I am just constantly moving. I have changed my keybinds, tested on other games to ensure my keyboard isnt broken, turned off and on Razer Synapse to ensure that wasnt the cause. If I unplug my keyboard I stop moving. This does not happen with a controler only plugged in. It only happens when my keyboard is plugged in. Every other bind works fine though.
(I dont really know how to show that im not pressing keys, sorry.)
Edit: I tried a different keyboard and it does not do it. For whatever reason my razor huntsman v3 pro mini just constantly moves -

Opa Admin MergedSeems to be a issue with the keyboard itself, maybe it has some Makrobinds or anything else that could cause it?
Will leave it open, if others encounter the same issue. -

Opa AdminDo you have a controller plugged in or any 3rd party programm in the background that could interfere with the games controls?
And please name us the Keyboard Brand plus Model will merge with another post -

fi5hiiNo controllers plugged in nor connected via bluetooth.
Keyboard is Razer Huntsman v3 pro

Matt Bishop MergedI am getting the permanent walking no matter what I do. If I toggle caps lock, my character either runs automatically or walks automatically.

DOOMI am having this issue as well. Logitech keyboard. no controller, nothing running the background
EDIT - I fixed my issue. I had a Razer Tartarus v2 plugged in. As soon as I unplugged it I was able to control my character. -

AjayI had a similar issue in a different game and the issue was an overlay program I had running to screen record. The keybinds were clashing. Not sure if this is something you have running?

AderoHello,
I share the issue that the OP is describing.
The character is running diagonally to the left (W+A input?).
I tested with three different keyboards to rule out this being the issue.
The keyboards I have are the following:
TRUST TORIX Wired Keyboard
EWEADN GX810 Wired Keyboard
China #1 keyboard (no model, made who knows where, paid like $5 for it years ago, now it's living the remainder of its life as a spare).
I have a fair amount of peripherals, such as webcams, controllers, USB hubs, I disconnected everything, restarted the whole game by having just a mouse and eventually disconnected that too, the character kept running even without any input-capable devices being attached to the PC.
I also attempted using different characters, as well as doing a new game. No luck. -

AlecI have a similar problem with the Steelseries Apex Pro TKL Wireless, even when it's unplugged. My character keeps running forward without me pressing any buttons.

Matt BishopWith mine I have tried multiple different things:
- Rebooted computer
- Restarted the game
- Tried new characters
All of it seems to be the same. Continuous walking. If I hit caps lock it changes between auto-run and auto-walk. I also even tried closing the game out and starting it up with my keyboard not even plugged in and the same thing happens. I have no controllers connected to my computer. When I open the inventory and select an item, the selector box immediately goes up. -

deathbydayI'm having the same issue with auto walking on loading into the game.
Using Logitech G915.
Also have a Razer Tartarus Pro Gamepad plugged in for MMO games.
Unplugging the the Razer Tartarus Pro stopped the auto walk.
Seems something with the detection of the gamepad is causing the auto walk. -
04 Dec, '25
ChicknTendiI am also having the same issue, I am using a Corsair K65 but I also have the Razer Tartarus Pro gamepad. I think its Razer Products, I unplugged the Tartarus and it stopped.

AderoHi again,
Decided to give it a swirl and changed all my key binds, made my mouse responsible for directions. Back and forth on RMB and LMB respectively, while left and right were also on RMB and LMB. Everything carried on as usual, so it's not reading inputs from anywhere, I think. -

DomUK MergedWhen the game starts, I am just running forward and unable to stop. I have no other USB plugged in, and when I leave the game my W key is working fine. Unable to stop moving forward in the game unless in the menu.

DreamOddityI use a gamepad called an Azeron. I could not use my Azeron as when i first loaded in my character was walking as if i was clicking A and W at the same time. I reloaded the game with my Azeron unplugged and it works fine now, however i have to use a keyboard instead of my gamepad. I would really like to use it! 😁

Having the same issue. Making the play test basically unplayable. -

MattStuck running forward when load into game. Seems to be picking up other peripherals. I use a lot of flight sim hardware and I disconnected the thrust master joystick as this was definitely causing some input as when I pushed the stick all the way to the right, the character moved. Even after this I could tell something was still causing forward input as when on the settings menu, clicking on input I could see the highlighted part moving up to the top on its own. I suspect there is some issue with this picking up other usb inputs but I can’t go through and test every usb sorry.

Rhiow MergedIn menus, with my gamepad connected but turned off, the game jitters my mouse and the menus swap between trying to use gamepad inputs and keyboard/mouse. When I turned my gamepad on it stopped spazzing out.

SwoofySame issue here, no connected controllers and im on a laptop with the built in keyboard. Happens from the first time i load in. Continues even when starting a new game too.

Ware_WolveI seemed to be encountering the same issue just installed the game and created a new character and, they are just continuously walking, without being able to stop them, i was however able to fix it, i had a racing wheel and shifter plugged into my pc that was apparently causing conflict with the game. once they were unplugged it corrected itself

TempestI have the exact same issue as DomUK... My gaming PC is an Asus ROG Strix gaming laptop, I'm only using a mouse. When the game starts I just keep moving forward unable to stop. I tried multiple troubleshooting with no solution. Thanks for all you do guys... Keep at it, it's just the beginning!

JaeyaSame issue here. Walking forward automatically. No joysticks connected. Even turned my keyboard off and it still walks forward, with only a mouse as an input. Doesn't seem like a keyboard issue but I am using an AULA F108 if that matters. I also tested my keyboard in wired mode to see if that cause an issue, no difference.
I plugged in an Xbox controller too and restarted my PC and then started the game again and still the issue is there -

Brandon MergedA common problem with Unity games is that USB devices (ex. joystick, throttle quadrant, rudder pedals, steering wheel, etc) used by simulation games are bound to the standard Unity movement axes/commands by default.
Upon loading into the game initially, my character started auto-walking. It would be great to see this resolved somehow, as it's quite inconvenient to regularly unplug devices or disable them in Device Manager.
Some Unity games also have their UIs affected by this, though so far I'm only seeing this affecting player movement.
Perhaps long-term it's worth exposing some functionality to bind these devices properly for accessibility reasons?
Edit: I also saw the thread "Keyboard Issues (Character auto-walking)". I wonder if this is a related issue? -
05 Dec, '25
SyddrafI am getting this issue too. I don't have any of my other peripherals plugged in. but i am constantly moving forward. even disconnected my keyboard and the input stayed.
went through conected devices on my computer and didn't see anything that would be providing input. very strange
keyboard is a Keychron K2 HE. with all game pad emulation (it is supported on this model.) confirmed as disabled. -

OlafLinux player here. I have the "feeling" that the "auto-walk" is caused by a too big and sensitive keystroke buffer. When I keep my hand on the W-Key for a fraction too long the character starts auto-walking and will keep walking for a minute or so. But (and this is what makes me think that it's a buffer thing) it WILL eventually stop.

Azaral MergedI play flight simulators and I use a HOTAS connected to my PC. The game detects it as a controller and it keeps sending a constant left input. I have to unplug it every time I play Autonomica. It would be great to have an option to disable all controller inputs and use only mouse and keyboard.

Agent-TI also have the problem that my character runs on its own after loading the game. I have a Corsair K70 Pro keyboard.
This means that the game is currently unplayable. Turning off the icue software and the logitech software did not solve the problem.
The problem also occurs when no keyboard is connected, which is very strange. -
05 Dec, '25
SedaI'm having the same issue. I'm on a laptop, so I can't disconnect my keyboard. I'm using Steam with a PS controller connected through USB. PS isn't necessarily compatible with Windows, so Steam has to be the middleware to make it work. I disconnected my controller and restarted the game, so I am just using keyboard and trackpad (no external mouse), and I am still having the same issue.

CJHello all, I was the first to have this problem when the game came out and my thinking is its with keyboards that have a duel input type of software built in as i have a razor huntsman v3 pro that allows you to have a mode to use your wasd keys as analogue now im not sure of this and you cant disable this on your keyboard software or disabling controllers in windows and steam does not work either so its with the talking from the game to keyboard that is getting a w+a input on every keyboard that people have that is doing it but this is just my theory.
